Laura & William’s Wedding at Mitton Hall, Cheshire

Laura and William’s shoot at Mitton Hall in Clitheroe was a little different — and all the more special because of it.

Already married for a few years, they reached out after discovering Amaris Lux, wanting to create a completely new set of images that felt more them — timeless, elegant, and deeply romantic — separate from their original wedding day. What followed was a beautifully curated styled shoot designed to honour their story in a fresh, intentional way.

And truly, Mitton Hall is the perfect setting for something so classic and refined.

Set on the edge of Whalley in the heart of the Ribble Valley, Mitton Hall is one of Lancashire’s most iconic luxury wedding venues — and one of my personal favourites to photograph. Part of the James’ Places collection (alongside Eaves Hall), it offers exceptional quality, service, and style, wrapped in historic charm and countryside calm.

This shoot blended soft neutral tones with statement styling, allowing the beauty of the venue to shine without overpowering it. Muted palettes, gentle textures, and elegant florals created a look that felt modern yet timeless — a perfect complement to Mitton Hall’s character.

One of the things that makes Mitton Hall so compelling is the contrast within the space itself. Rich dark woods, roaring fires, dramatic chandeliers, and vaulted ceilings create a warm, intimate atmosphere, while light pours into the orangery and ceremony spaces — airy, elegant, and quietly luminous.

It feels like two worlds within one place, allowing the day to move naturally between moods and moments.

Laura and William moved through the space with such ease and connection — relaxed, joyful, and completely in tune with one another. There was no sense of urgency or expectation, just the freedom to slow down, dress up again, and create something meaningful together. The resulting images felt authentic, emotional, and deeply romantic — a reflection of where they are now, not just where they began.

A quiet reminder that a love story doesn’t need to be captured only once — it can be revisited, reimagined, and celebrated again in a way that feels entirely true to you.
