THE HEART BEHIND THE LENS
I’ve always believed there’s a reason
certain photographs make you pause.
Not because they’re perfect,
but because they feel real.
Hi, I’m Paul of Amaris Lux Photography, a wedding photographer based in Cheshire & Manchester with over a decade of experience capturing weddings in a way that feels timeless, heartfelt, and true to each couple. My approach blends unobtrusive documentary storytelling with gentle editorial guidance, always focused on people, light, and the quiet, in-between moments that matter most.
My passion for photography is deeply influenced by travel and storytelling. I married my wife, Tamara, in South Africa’s Kruger National Park — an experience shaped by raw landscapes, remarkable people, and a powerful sense of atmosphere and light. Alongside a lifelong love of cinema, this has influenced the way I see the world and frame stories through imagery that feels immersive and emotive.
When I photograph a wedding, my focus is simple: to tell the story of your day as it naturally unfolds — calmly, thoughtfully, and with artistic elegance. Above all, I want you to feel comfortable and fully present, trusting that your wedding is being captured with care, balance, and intention, creating a lasting legacy of how it truly felt.
KIND WORDS
“We were completely blown away by the images, Simply Stunning.”
Choosing a wedding photographer is about far more than photographs — it’s about trusting someone to preserve the feeling of the day. Someone who notices the moments as they happen, understands what matters, and captures it with care.
From the very beginning, Paul was thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely invested in our ideas. Everything felt easy and considered — from tailoring our package, to talking through the finer details as the day approached, so nothing was left to chance.
On the wedding day itself, Paul was there before we arrived, quietly documenting the atmosphere and the setting, and he stayed late into the evening, capturing every meaningful moment as it unfolded. He shared glimpses along the way, worked effortlessly around our guests, and never missed a beat.
Paul is a true professional with an obvious passion for what he does. We were completely blown away by the images, simply stunning — every emotion, every person, all the happiness. We couldn’t recommend him highly enough, and we’re endlessly grateful for the memories he’s given us.

How I photograph
a wedding
“The story always comes first.”
Every wedding has its own rhythm — different people, different energy, different light.
My job is to read that and respond to it.
I work documentary-first, staying close enough to catch what matters, but far enough away for things to unfold naturally. When guidance is needed, it’s subtle and relaxed. When moments happen,
I’m ready.
Over the years, I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings — from quiet, intimate days to full-scale celebrations — and I approach every one with the same focus:
Tell the story honestly. Capture everything that matters. Do it beautifully.
What couples value most
Couples don’t book me because I promise perfection.
They book me because they want to feel comfortable — and to trust the person documenting their day.
What I hear most often afterwards:
— “We didn’t feel awkward once.”
— “You captured moments we didn’t even know were happening.”
— “It felt effortless — but the photos are incredible.”
That balance is exactly what I’m aiming for.
A gentle invitation
If this already feels familiar — if you’re drawn to photography that’s calm, considered, and true to how the day actually unfolds — then you’re very much in the right place.
What it’s like working together
Before the wedding, I’m available — calls, messages, advice, timing questions.
On the day, I’m calm, present and fully invested.
Afterwards, I edit with care, keeping everything true to the moment and consistent across the full story.
No over-processing. No repetition. No shortcuts.
Just photographs that feel real.
Experience matters
I’ve been photographing weddings and events professionally for over fifteen years.
That experience shows itself quietly — in how I move through a room, how I handle pressure, and how I adapt when timelines change or the weather doesn’t behave as planned. Couples don’t need to manage me on the day. I’m already thinking two steps ahead.
You get to be present and enjoy your wedding.
I’ll take care of the story.
“Paul is an outstanding photographer — patient, thoughtful, and a joy to have with us on the day. Every moment felt special.”
