THE HEART BEHIND
THE LENS

“I believe the most powerful wedding photographs are the ones that feel real, elevated by thoughtful composition, light, and timing. My role is to document your day honestly, while creating images you’d expect to see in print.”

Hi, I’m Paul of Amaris Lux Photography, a wedding photographer based in Cheshire & Manchester with over a decade of experience capturing weddings in a way that feels timeless, heartfelt, and true to each couple. My approach blends unobtrusive documentary storytelling with gentle editorial guidance, always focused on people, light, and the quiet,
in-between moments that matter most.

My passion for photography is deeply influenced by travel and storytelling. I married my wife, Tamara, in South Africa’s Kruger National Park — an experience shaped by raw landscapes, remarkable people, and a powerful sense of atmosphere and light. Alongside a lifelong love of cinema, this has influenced the way I see the world and frame stories through imagery that feels immersive
and emotive.

When I photograph a wedding, my focus is simple: to tell the story of your day as it naturally unfolds, calmly, thoughtfully, and with artistic elegance. Above all, I want you to feel comfortable and fully present, trusting that your wedding is being captured with care, balance, and intention, creating a lasting legacy of how it truly felt.

KIND WORDS

“We were completely blown away by the images, Simply Stunning.”

From the very beginning, Paul was thoughtful, responsive and quietly in control. We felt completely at ease - and the photographs exceeded every expectation.

How I photograph
a wedding day

“The Story Always Comes First.”
Documentary Throughout the Day.

I photograph your wedding as it unfolds, quietly, attentively, and without interference. The laughter, nerves, glances, and in-between moments are where the real story lives.

Editorial When It Matters.

When the light is right and the moment allows, I guide you into relaxed, natural portraits that feel effortless and refined, never stiff or over-posed.

A Seamless Experience.

The result is a complete visual narrative: honest moments with a considered, editorial finish.

A documentary foundation, elevated through an editorial lens

Your wedding day isn’t a styled shoot, it’s a living, emotional story.

My approach blends the honesty of documentary photography with the polish of editorial imagery.
That means real, unscripted moments as they naturally unfold, paired with beautifully composed portraits and details worthy of the pages of
a magazine.

Nothing forced. Nothing overly directed.
Just thoughtful guidance when needed, and space for your day to happen.

Who Is This For…

For couples who see their wedding as both a celebration and a legacy.

You want your wedding to feel authentic,
not staged.

You love editorial imagery but don’t want your day interrupted.

You care about emotion, atmosphere, and aesthetic equally.

You want photographs that feel timeless, not trend-led.

What it’s like working together

Before the wedding, I’m available, calls, messages, advice, timing questions.
On the day, I’m calm, present and fully invested.
Afterwards, I edit with care, keeping everything true to the moment and consistent across the full story.

No over-processing. No repetition. No shortcuts.

Just photographs that feel real.

Experience matters

I’ve been photographing weddings and events professionally for over fifteen years.

That experience shows itself quietly, in how I move through a room, how I handle pressure, and how I adapt when timelines change or the weather doesn’t behave as planned.
Couples don’t need to manage me on
the day. I’m already thinking two steps ahead.

You get to be present and enjoy your wedding.
I’ll take care of the story.

“ Thoughtful & timeless "

“We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better photographer than Paul at Amarís Lux Wedding Photography. Our wedding at Peckforton Castle felt like a real fairytale, and Paul captured every part of it beautifully.

The weather threw absolutely everything at us, freezing cold, wind, rain, even hail, but Paul took it all in his stride and somehow turned it into something magical. He knew exactly how to use the castle, finding incredible spots inside and out, and made us feel completely relaxed the whole time.

What really stood out was Paul’s creativity and attention to detail. From bright, romantic shots to darker, moodier images with stunning lighting, every photograph feels thoughtful and timeless rather than staged. Nothing felt rushed, forced, or awkward, just natural, fun, and genuinely us.

Thank you, Paul, for braving the cold with us and for telling our wedding story so perfectly through your images. We’ll treasure them forever."
